As at Dec 2023, there are about 1,113,000 work permit holders in Singapore. Migrant domestic workers and migrant workers in the Construction, Marine Shipyard and Process sectors account for more than half of the total*.

For many of the migrant workers, they have left home in hopes of providing their families with a better life. Many have not been there to witness their children’s milestones in life, be physically present to look after their families, elderly parents and more. Each and everyone has a heartful story to tell.

Sometimes gone unnoticed and falling through the gaps, transnational families, consisting of a Singaporean spouse and a foreign spouse, with non-Singaporean children face challenges such as unemployment, high costs in area such as medical and education to name a few. The funds raised will go towards sustaining our programmes and services and expanding support to more migrants in need.

Jiak Kim House prides itself on creating a unique cuisine between traditional and contemporary tastes, paying homage to Singapore’s vibrant history built by migrants. Each dish is specially crafted to tell a story that will take you on a sensorial adventure. Reserve your seats today and gourmet for the migrant cause.
